Welcome to Cottage.net!
The definitive site for cottage
owners.

We are planning our launch in Spring 2002.

Cottage.net will be the most comprehensive site for home and cottage owners.

You will be able to browse the site, get information on areas of interest, meet specialists in the area, and witness exciting new technologies. We want to make your dreams a reality.

If you own or plan to own a weekend cottage, a retreat from work, a permanent home, or a cabin to just get away from it all - you'll find everything you need to help you enjoy your time there.

Cottage.net will support the the Cottage community with on-line publication of news, reviews, analysis, and opinion, along with in-depth and practical how-to articles. This free coverage is made possible with support from a select set of numerous individual contributors.

You can help us maintain Cottage.net.  If you have a product or service of a general interest to cottagers please feel free to submit this information  Of course, you may contribute as much or little as you choose, and contributions of any size are greatly appreciated.

Cottage.net thrives on user submissions, and we actively encourage our readers to send us their articles, so that their information and experiences can be shared by our community of readers. Articles can address any topic relating to cottages or cottage life, such as:
Maintenance information and tips
Advice
Discussion of personal experience
Discussion of a topic relating to cottage communities
Information about Cottage associations and events
Discussion of any tricks of the trade
Humorous story or a relation of a specific event
News
Anything else that's interesting or related to the topics we cover!

If we decide to publish your article, we'll notify you of our decision. It's important to note that your article cannot have been published by any other publication. By submitting an article to us, the author agrees to allow us to publish the article (in whole or part) on our site. Cottage.net will be sure to give credit to the authors of any submitted articles.

We cannot urge strongly enough that you do not have to be an experienced author. We invite all kinds of user submissions, and will consider anything we find to be interesting and informative no matter how much editing we feel is necessary. We would suggest 800-1000 words as a minimum for most articles, though clearly this is variable based on the subject being covered.

So, if you have an experience or knowledge that you'd like to write about, send your article to us and we may very well decide to publish it. To send us an article, you have a few options. You can send it to us by email at editor@cottage.net with the story included in the body of the message or as an attachment to the email. Be sure to include your name, address, and any other contact information necessary. You can also mail us your story, making sure to include the same contact information, to the following address:

32 Manitoba Street
Bracebridge, Ontario Canada

So, if you'd like to see your work in writing, get typing and send us your stories! User submissions are the backbone of Cottage.net.
